FAQs

Q:    Why should I clean my trash cans?
A:    Your trash cans harbor bacteria and viruses that are harmful to you and your family.  The smells generated by these organisms can reach dizzying proportions.  These smells also attract insects and rodents.  A can cleaned by Tucson Bin Solutions eliminates these problems.  If you have to leave your cans inside your garage (most Home Owners Associations require this), you already know how bad they can smell.   HOA's love this service and so do the homeowners. If you just use water you are not killing the bacteria you are simply giving them a bath!  We kill 99.9% by using 195 degree water and biodegradable cleaners to insure that your cans have been sanitized, deodorized, and disinfected.

Q:    How does it work?     
A:    Our Tucson Bin Solution Truck will come to your home after your trash has been collected. We will clean all cans designated by you for cleaning.  We schedule your regular cleaning based on your trash pick-up day and assign you to "Week 1, 2, 3 or 4."  The first Monday of the month determines "Week 1" of a month.  Our contracts run for a year from your first cleaning.  So if your first cleaning is in May your service period runs through April of the following year.  If you live in an area that empties your recycle cans every other week, please let us know.  We will have to schedule your services a bit different.   

Q:   What day will you clean my cans?
A:   For most areas it will be on your normal garbage day.  However, it depends on where you live.  The garbage collection companies are always changing garbage pick up schedules and we have to work around their schedules. There are some areas that pick up garbage very late.  Usually cans will be cleaned the day of garbage day, but there may be times where your cans will cleaned early the day following your garbage day.  We understand the rules HOAs have for residents to keep cans in garages, behind fences, etc. and we will do our best to coordinate cleaning schedules with you for your convenience. Also, can cleaning reminders will be emailed to you. 

Q:    Will you provide a one-time cleaning?     
A:    Yes we will, but we feel you are best served when signing up for regular periodic cleanings.  First time cleanings usually take considerably longer than subsequent “maintenance” cleanings and we price accordingly.

Q:    If I sign up, when will you clean my cans?     
A:    We will contact you when we receive your order regarding the next service date in your neighborhood.  Sign-up online or call us direct.

Q:    Do I have to sign up ALL of my trash cans?     
A:    No. You tell us which of your trash cans you want on the program.  

Q:    Can I alternate or rotate cans each cleaning cycle?     
A:    No. Each container has its own identification and will be cleaned each service cycle.

Q:    What happens if I move from the Tucson Bin Solutions service area?     
A:    You should contact Tucson Bin Solutions anytime you are planning a move so that we can make proper arrangements to cancel or if possible continue your service in another area.

Q:    How much water do you use?
A:    If you were to clean your own can using a hose, you could easily use 15 gallons or more.  On average it takes us less than 4 gallons.  It is so environmentally wasteful to clean your cans and let the water run down the storm drain?  This contaminated water does serious damage to our waterways and the enviroment.  At Tucson Bin Solutions, we collect the water and dispose of it properly.  We have contracted with a local water treatment facility to maintain compliance with the Arizona Department Environmental Quality (ADEQ)

Q:  Can you remove paint, tar, or other "permanent" items that have dried inside my can?
A:   We use up to 3000 psi pressure which is very powerful.  Paint, tar and other adhesives are extremely difficult to remove and may not come off.  We will do our best to remove these problem areas as best we can.  Cans that have not been washed in several years may also require a few more cleanings before these problem areas are broken up and removed.   Our customers have been thrilled with the results and so will you.  Please remember... if you have newer cans, they are sure to look brand new after cleaning.  If your cans are several years old, they will be clean but may have the "worn look" still present.  Please be reasonable.  Although we can't take a can that is 20 years old and make it look brand new, it will be sanitized, disinfected, and deodorized to protect you and your family.  We take great pride in offering this new and unique service to all our neighbors.
